This morning I wanted to go home. I miss my home in Canada. I miss my husband so much more. I call my wonderful and supportive husband and cry into the phone "I waaaaaaant to come hooooooooome....." or something to that effect. Devon reminds me that while it's my decision and he will support me, I would regret leaving. Later that morning I talked to Jerry as well and he reiterated what Dev said, Jerry also suggested I take a break, go to a movie or drive to the beach.
So I took a break!
I took a nap and then went to the spa! I got a facial, manicure and pedicure, had my eyebrows waxed and my hair done.
Thanks for the advice guys! I had a very relaxing day. :)
Hey you!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about you needing a change of scenery...you're sure welcome here (morning is calmer than evenings), and if you ever need to escape even to go get a simple hamburger and want a friend, you give me a call! (or e-mail...) serious...
:-)

I'm so glad you're feeling better. Thank you so much for staying and helping out around there. I know how hard it is for you to be under that stress 24/7 and be away from Dev at the same time. You deserve more credit than you give yourself. Please don't hesitate to call anytime day or night if you need anything or just want to talk. I know mom and dad are both really happy to have you there during these times.
ReplyDeleteI hope your toenails cheered you up. They certainly cheered me. Yes, caregiver burnout is a very real thing. You need to remember to take care of yourself too.
ReplyDeleteTonight is the graduation ceremony for the reading buddies at the library. Kevin and I volunteer. I have made 36 red velvet cupcakes with peppermint buttercream frosting piped into beautiful flowers.
Love from the Simpson clan in the frozen north.
Your toes look awesome! :) I'm glad you took a moment for yourself; sometimes even something as simple as a hot shower can help you realign and renew.
ReplyDeleteI think you're amazing, and I'm so proud to be your friend. Hang in there, Deb.
